There is no point to using either really.
I'm at work so numbers are from the top of my head.
500 armor difference between surya and madrugar. 100pg difference, 1 more high slot.
How is this worth like 800k sp and fitted 2 mill isk?
Shouldn't these be pretty beast tanks?
Wouldn't an extra low slot with more pg for another heavy plate or repper be more acceptable?
No one even wants to use them, theyre useless compared to the standard variants.
Same goes for sagaris, and its missiles are broken.

Your getting 1 more high slot and 100 more pg.
That doesn't change how much you can tank at all.
They're identical.
The difference between a surya and mad should be very visible, like between the soma and mad.

Rarely.
I've seen djinn goose use his sagaris once, then he went back to gunnlogi.
People will use them now and then cuz we get free ones from salvage.
But there's no point in them still.
HAV's do need a buff, they've become pretty crappy.
Yes we can go 40/0 in a game, but most of the time you'll lose 1 every couple games, with 1 mill price tag per, that's pretty ridiculous.
Although I will state between tactics ect I don't lose 1 often, maybe on a bad day, but 90+% of my losses are from OB's, I've had 4 called on my tank in one match with no infantry around me, since they couldn't get me with AV they farmed WP's for OB's. |

I have 15 Surya from salvage, I wouldn't mind taking it into a pub. With a buff, I'd use it in pubs, why not people use proto suits in pubs too.
Corp battles are garbage atm, no reason to use it there either.

Being STB, learn to fit your tanks and quit being jelly.
Also anyone who has tried tanks understand its a job keeping them alive in our current AV situation.

Because the skill applies to all tanks, broken feature or not idk, which again makes mad the same as Surya and puts the gunnlogi down the toilet since you can't fit missiles to get their bonus. |

What is the current AV situation? So you want your tank to be god mode? The ones i see that are fitted correctly have no trouble staying alive. I have AV mines , packed AV nades , and level 3 swarm launchers with high level damage mods and all that dont do **** to tanks with modules. They either drive away or kill everyone.
This, you must be joking right? Only going against shield tanks?
I haven't found a tank my swarms alone can't take down, let alone with AV grenades.
3 complex damage mods mmmmmm tank pie.
No one should be able to solo a tank in the first place, but its very possible.
Minimum should be 4-5 guys to kill one.
You make me giggle and your AV tactics reinforce my STB statement. |

So, I can see tweeking them upwards a tad bit more, but frankly, in your day to day battles a Mad or a Gunn are already practically overkill.
I'd say in that match type it would be more on tactics, the extra high slot doesn't really let you fit much.
Let's say standard mad has a heat build up mod in one high, then some other turret upgrade, there isn't enough high slot modules to actually benefit from 1 extra slot, to an armor tank the 100pg may let you fit a lil' nicer gun, like long range version without gimping, but you'd rather have damage over range, so no point.
Now if there was an extra low slot, that would make a world of difference and really put a fight between Surya and mad, in the surya's favor.
If you somehow see the Surya first, or the mad started shooting first, the extra 500 armor the Surya gets means nothing.
500 armor on a tank is really like a tiny chunk that doesn't change much. |

Missiles really need to be fixed, this would give the sagaris a huge advantage.
With all skills Surya will get something like 30% bonus to blaster damage.
Sagaris with all skills, plus 3 10% damage mods, 60% damage bonus.
But missiles are broke, balance is gone.
I would like to see some spider tanking though, would be sick. |

I'm sorry have you played eve? I've been there 10 years, you know what? Missiles are long range extremely low fire rate with very low damage.
Their range is the advantage.
Now you have assault missiles which are higher fire which in turn does more dps but the range is about 90% reduced.
So unless you want your baby missiles reduced 90% of range to equal into eve gtfo of my thread.
This is sagaris and Surya needing a buff, higher then that of their standard variants, don't bring your other garbage into my thread. |

Thoughts? You know, I'd actually be fine with it if they significantly increased the stats of the next tier of tank (black ops ftw ^.^) but I hope the new tanks and mods will come out soon!

Bah sagaris with missiles working, you could still get like 60% more dps.
Think that would make up for the tanking difference in a 1v1. |
